Joining ship to seek better medical treatment -  A crew man, with the connivance of the manning agent joined a ship whilst badly infected with AIDS in order to get treatment away from the poor conditions at home.

A relatively simple case… until the airline changed their mind!

In late January we received an urgent call for assistance to move a critically ill patient from Cartagena, Columbia at 18h00. By midnight the patient was in hospital in Miami with a visa issued by very helpful US Immigration officials.

A young crew man taken ill with a psychiatric condition in Brazil receives inadequate care. A psychiatric team was finally forced to fly from the UK to move him for initial treatment prior to repatriation.
