Whether it is a broken pelvis in the North Atlantic after a  fall in bad weather,  a case of Malaria Falciparum after a visit to Africa, or a heart attack in the Pacific, MRI is there all the time to support the seafarer, the ship owner and his agents , and the P & I Association and their correspondents.

Since 1988 we have been responding to medical emergencies involving seafarers. Our patients are often left behind by their ship in the more remote areas of the earth where local agents and insurance correspondents  welcome the wealth of medical experience we bring to the case. Sometimes our advice and reassurance is all that is needed, and at other times full involvement to bring the patient safely home.

MRI doctor will speak to presiding doctors in the port Clinic or Hospital

 Describe the injury or illness and advise on all short and long term implications

Advise on further treatment

Recommend time and method of repatriation

Provide escorts if required: doctor, paramedic or nurse

Organise flight medical clearance, air tickets (or air ambulance), airport transfers, hospital admission
