Those patients who do not need the full intensive air ambulance situation may be able to travel by stretcher in a commercial, scheduled, aircraft. The number of airlines offering this service is becoming more limited every year for reasons either of security or convenience, and may only be available from main hubs, but we will always try this cost effective solution in the first instance if possible. Our doctor and nurse/paramedic escort combination are very experienced in carrying out these transfers, even to the extent of using oxygen concentrators and mechanical ventilators in these aircraft.
This method of transportation if suitable combines both privacy and affordability for our clients. With the ability to section off one end of the aircraft, we afford our patients the space and quiet they require to rest, and receive treatment if required.
